After 22-1/2 years of marriage my husband and I have come to understand that good marriages are like most mechanical things. They take maintenance and upkeep. While we’ve been to several marriage retreats, we have never seen anything quite like Gary Moore’s unique approach with his Mutual Understanding Method®. We came away with a fresh perspective on communicating with each other, intimacy at all stages of marriage, and we both better understand that age-old dirty word “submission” a whole lot better (it’s not what most would have you believe, it’s actually quite liberating). Steve and I both have already recommended this retreat to other couples. During the weekend we watched couples who had been married a short time, to those who have been married so long they think they were born married, grow stronger, closer and more united. The MUM conference brought my husband and I to a place of growth and commitment based on mutual understanding. It didn’t give us permission to just act on our ever changing emotions. Gary provided application techniques on how to communicate what we are feeling and to refocus on our common values. For so long we’ve been keeping score, not realizing that by doing so we were on opposite teams. We have a togetherness and hope that we didn’t have before attending the weekend sessions.

Being parents and a coach, it's hard to connect sometimes when you're constantly taking kids to sports and working full time. This weekend was a great time of worship, fellowship, prayer, and reconnecting with my best friend and my love.
